Supergravity solution-generating techniques and canonical transformations of ?-models from O(D, D)

چکیده

Within the framework of flux formulation Double Field Theory (DFT) we employ a generalised Scherk-Schwarz ansatz and discuss classification twists that in presence strong constraint give rise to constant fluxes interpreted as gaugings. We analyse various possibilities turning on $H_{ijk}, F_{ij}{}^k, Q_i{}^{jk}$ $R^{ijk}$, solutions for allowed each case. While do not impose DFT (or equivalently supergravity) equations motion, our results provide solution-generating techniques supergravity when applied background does solve equations. At same time, also canonical transformations 2-dimensional $\sigma$-models, fact which is interesting especially because these are integrability-preserving worldsheet. Both $\sigma$-models arise maps leave their flat derivatives invariant. These include known abelian/non-abelian/Poisson-Lie T-duality transformations, Yang-Baxter deformations, well novel generalisations them.

New Canonical Variables for d = 11 Supergravity

A set of new canonical variables for d = 11 supergravity is proposed which renders the supersymmetry variations and the supersymmetry constraint polynomial. The construction is based on the SO(1, 2) × SO(16) invariant reformulation of d = 11 supergravity given in [4], and has some similarities with Ashtekar’s reformulation of Einstein’s theory. The new bosonic variables fuse the gravitational d...

Generating new supergravity solutions using Ehlers-Harrison-type transformations

The technique of generating new solutions to 4D gravity/matter systems by dimensional reduction to a σ-model is extended to supersymmetric configurations of supergravity. The conditions required for the preservation of supersymmetry under isometry transformations in the σ-model target space are found. Some examples illustrating the technique are given. e-mail: [email protected] e-mail: parviz@ph...

Integrability and Canonical Structure of D = 2, N = 16 Supergravity

The canonical formulation of d = 2, N = 16 supergravity is presented. We work out the supersymmetry generators (including all higher order spinor terms) and the N = 16 supercon-formal constraint algebra. We then describe the construction of the conserved non-local charges associated with the affine E 9(+9) symmetry of the classical equations of motion. These charges are shown to commute weakly ...

D-brane Dualities as Canonical Transformations

We show that the SL(2,R) duality symmetry of type IIB superstring theory can be formulated as the canonical transformation interchanging momenta and magnetic degrees of freedom associated to the abelian world-volume gauge field of the D-3-brane. D-strings are shown to be connected under the corresponding transformation in the world-sheet to the (m,n) family of string solutions of type IIB super...

Quantum Canonical Transformations and Exact Solution of the Schrödinger Equation

Time-dependent unitary transformations are used to study the Schrödinger equation for explicitly timedependent Hamiltonians of the form H(t) = ~ R(t) · ~ J , where ~ R is an arbitrary real vector-valued function of time and ~ J is the angular momentum operator. The solution of the Schrödinger equation for the most general Hamiltonian of this form is shown to be equivalent to the special case ~ ...
